Custom Mold Core Pin is made from the finest grade of SKD-61 hotwork die steel. The heads are hot forged and stress relieved for uniform grain flow and high tensile strength. The surface could be ion nitride coated to a hardness of HV 1000°±100°. The core of vacuumed pin could be hardened to HRC 52°±2°. Other steel options available. Our coating process produces an ideal combination of toughness and long life. The high surface finish reduces friction and increases pin service life. Tolerance can reach 0.005mm.
