Mold Core Insert Description
A Mold Core Insert is a pre-determined shaped mass of dry sand manufactured separately from the mould. It is positioned within a mould to achieve casting shapes that cannot be readily obtained through standard moulding processes. Specialized equipment including core box patterns, baking equipment, and handling facilities are required for Mold Core Insert production.
Mold Core Inserts can be eliminated for small applications, particularly when holes will be machined later. Inserts must maintain sufficient thickness and avoid fragile or overhanging projections that could break during handling and transportation.
