Core inserts are precision mold components that form critical internal features of injection-molded parts. Using core inserts instead of machining the core geometry directly into a full plate improves serviceability, accuracy control, and maintenance efficiency—especially for molds running high cycles or requiring frequent refurbishment.
Our custom core inserts are CNC-machined to customer drawings as part of our precision mold components manufacturing service. We focus on repeatable quality across single pieces and multi-piece sets, with controlled machining processes for datums, fits, concentricity/runout, surface finish, and interchangeability. Whether for new molds or replacement tooling, our core inserts are built to support stable assembly and consistent molding performance.
A core insert (mold core) is a replaceable forming component typically installed on the moving half of an injection mold. It creates internal geometry such as bores, inner diameters, seating surfaces, channels, and functional interfaces—features that often determine whether the molded part assembles correctly and performs reliably.
Core insert material is selected based on wear, corrosion exposure, required polishability, and expected service life. Typical options include stainless mold steels and tool steels. Heat treatment and optional surface treatments/coatings can be applied according to your specification to improve hardness, wear resistance, and surface stability.
Custom core inserts are used in plastic injection molds for:
End products vary by customer design; we manufacture to your drawings and mold architecture.
Core inserts often combine tight fits with finish-critical forming areas. We control the parameters that affect molding stability and assembly repeatability.
Faster maintenance and lower downtime
Replaceable core inserts allow targeted replacement without reworking the entire mold block or plate.
Consistent molding performance
Accurate datums and controlled fits improve repeatability and reduce variation caused by assembly differences.
Longer mold life
Optimized material and surface treatment improve wear resistance, protecting critical forming zones over long production runs.
Better interchangeability for spare parts programs
Matched inserts and consistent manufacturing support quick swap-in replacement and predictable maintenance schedules.

If this is a replacement core insert, sharing the mating interface dimensions helps ensure drop-in compatibility.
Yes. We produce according to your drawings, GD&T, and datum references. If tolerances are not specified, we can propose a practical tolerance plan for approval.
Typically, forming geometry, locating datums, and coaxial features (runout/concentricity) affect assembly fit and molded part consistency.
Yes. We can manufacture matched sets with controlled variation and provide inspection data for key dimensions.
Yes. Polishing and fine finishing can be applied according to your requirements.
Yes. Inspection reports, material certificates, and heat treatment records are available upon request.
