Die punch pins are essential accessories for stamping die operations. These replaceable mold consumables are mounted on stamping dies to perform continuous punching operations, separating or plastically deforming materials to produce finished or semi-finished products.
Material Classification
Punch pins are available in various materials including SKD, SKH, ASP, tungsten steel, and high-speed steel variants. Each material offers distinct characteristics - tungsten steel pins appear darker while high-speed steel pins have a brighter finish.

Manufacturing Process
1. Drawing & Cutting
Tested raw materials are drawn to desired diameters using wire drawing machines, then cut into fixed-length rod-shaped punching pin blanks.
2. Heat Treatment
Blanks are straightened using dial gauges, then heated to 800-1300°C in high-frequency electric or salt bath furnaces for 2-5 minutes. Oil quenching achieves tip hardness of Hv590-800, followed by low-temperature tempering.
3. Grinding Processing
Pins are clamped in machine tool spring collets and ground according to specific angular requirements for various needle base configurations.
4. Polishing
Surface cleaning removes oil, rust, and other contaminants to ensure optimal surface quality.
5. Inspection & Storage
Comprehensive quality inspection against required specifications precedes packaging and warehousing of approved products.
