SKD61 Material Precision Mould Parts EDM Wire Cut Metal Parts
Customized SKD61 Material Precision Mould Parts
Wire Cut EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) is a precision metal machining process where a tool discharges thousands of sparks to a metal workpiece. Instead of cutting the material, EDM melts or vaporizes it, leaving minimal debris and providing exceptional accuracy.
When using standard 0.010" brass wire, you can expect consistent wire EDM cutting speeds of approximately 18-20 inches per hour. While accuracies of ±0.00004" (0.001mm) are sometimes achievable, ±0.0002" (0.005mm) is more widely accepted. EDM accuracy depends on workpiece characteristics, desired surface finish, and available machining time.
