Mold Core Pins and core blocks are essential components used in aluminum alloy die-casting to produce net-shape parts and prevent shrinkage in thick casting sections. For large castings, challenges such as soldering of Mold Core Pins due to insufficient cooling and leakage may occur. Our optimized cooling system addresses these issues through extensive research on heat flow under various casting conditions.
This research has led to the development of thin wall Mold Core Pin shapes optimized for both heat flow and mechanical performance. The ideal cooling channel diameter should be 70% of the outer diameter of the Mold Core Pin. This thin wall design combined with high-pressure water cooling eliminates soldering issues and provides longer Mold Core Pin life compared to conventional solid pins without internal cooling.
